CHN has been in active dialogue with the South Carolina faith-based community on the ethics of stewardship living. Director of South Carolina Regional Cultures of Conservation, Bruce Coull is advisor to the SC Methodist Advocate (a statewide monthly newspaper) which provides monthly Earth savvy information for its readers. Coull also serves on the steering committee for a Nov. 1, 2009 “Caring for Creation” meeting to be held at The Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia. Over 500 congregations have been invited and CHN Advisor, Dana Beach, will give the keynote address at this meeting. Dr. Coull also serves on the executive board of “Sustainable Midlands,” a newly formed central SC organization to educate clergy and other decision makers on sustainability issues. CHN Senior Program Associate, Dr. Bill Bailey, and Dr. Coull will lead two sessions on faith and literature in the environment for an Episcopal church in November and they have spoken to several other faith groups.
