CHN hosts Meeting for Retirees on Inter-generational Responsibilities

The meeting “The Lowcountry: Our Grandchildren’s Legacy” was held on January 29, 2009 at the Palmetto Electric Cooperative in Hardeeville, SC in cooperation with the University of South Carolina-Beaufort. The gathering was an initial effort to educated area residents about environmental threats in the SC Lowcountry, their inter-generational connections (particularly relevant to the retirees) and intercultural responsibilities (relevant to all), and to draw upon their collective wisdom and wherewithal in support of sound policies that will promote the ecological health of future generations.
