July 20th, 2009

William Forbes, Assistant Professor of Geography a Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, paid a week-long visit to the New York office in mid-July. Professor Forbes is a former officer in the United States Forest Service and has written on the work of Aldo Leopold. While in New York, he discussed his work and interests with CHN colleagues Bruce Jennings and Brandon Whitney and worked on a proposal for a new book on the application of the Land Ethic to three important river areas, Mexico’s Rio Gavilan, the Colorado Rivers Delta, and Peru’s Rio Madre de Dios. In addition, Professor Forbes also found time to prepare an article for the Center’s forthcoming August issue of Minding Nature.
