Joan Gibb Engel is an essayist and poet now living in Tucson, AZ. Readers of City Creatures and the Center for Humans and Nature’s City Creatures Blog are familiar with her humans and nature reflections. Joan also writes about how we children of nature can preserve the natural world in all of its splendor for the children of tomorrow.
To this end, she has contributed personal essays and poetry to a variety of publications and has edited several works that deal with environmental ethics, including Ethics of Environment and Development: Global Challenge, International Response (University of Arizona Press, 1990). Recent poems appear in Comstock Review and Green Linden Press.
