The blog is on hiatus this week. Do not be alarmed. Okay? Breathing steady? Good.
I have a few suggestions. Consider leaving a comment on one of the posts. The City Creatures Blog is a forum for great writing and artwork about animal encounters in urban areas, but it's also a forum for quality conversation. Lately, things have been a little sleepy comment-wise. Then, last week, a difficult subject drew a good deal of attention. The thoughtful exchanges added further layers to the initial piece of writing. City Creatures Blog contributors enjoy hearing when their work strikes a chord, so I invite you to dive into our now-sizeable archive of posts and add your thoughts, if you feel compelled to do so, in the comments section.
If you'd like to dig still further, or want to relax away from a computer screen, I also hear there's a really nice book about the urban wilds. Heck, if you already have this book, it'd be nice if you left a comment about what you think right here.
Until next week—when we'll hear about bison encounters past and present, a recent reintroduction to an Illinois prairie, and a personal journey into the "inner frontier"—I wish you happy reading.
