Indiana’s ‘Green Fire’ Student Essay Contest Announcement

In celebration of the Northwest Indiana’s history of commitment to conservation and the exciting release of the film Green Fire, the Lake Michigan Coastal Program, the Center for Humans and Nature and the LaPorte County Soil and Water Conservation District invite students to submit a one-page essay:
“How Aldo Leopold’s land ethic is alive today in Northwest Indiana”

In celebration of the Northwest Indiana’s history of commitment to conservation and the exciting Indiana premiere of the film Green Fire, the Center for Humans and Nature, the Lake Michigan Coastal Program, and the LaPorte County Soil and Water Conservation District invite students to submit a one-page essay: “How Aldo Leopold’s land ethic is alive today in Northwest Indiana.”

Submission deadline: Friday, August 12th, 2011

Submit your typed, 12pt font, double-spaced, one-page maximum (8 ½ by 11 in. paper) essay to:

Winners in each category will read their essay prior to the screening of the film to an audience of local and regional conservation leaders, have a student bio and award winning essay posted on the CHN website, receive a signed copy of Aldo Leopold: His Life and Work by Curt Meine, as well as a certificate of award.
