Brendan Mackey

Brendan Mackey is a professor of environmental science at The Australian National University, Fenner School of Environment & Society. His research and teaching are in the fields of forest ecology, conservation biology, and environmental biogeography, with a current focus on the role of natural forests in carbon storage. Along with his scientific interests, Brendan has an abiding concern for the ethical basis to nature conservation. Brendan currently serves on the Earth Charter Council, and co-chairs the IUCN Ethics Specialist Group.
