Vivian Donnelley is a Senior Admissions Associate at the Dalton School, an independent, co-educational day school (K-12), founded in 1919 in New York City. She is completing her third six-year term as a Trustee at Dalton. Her numerous roles at the Dalton School include: Chair and Co-Author, The Dalton School Ten Year Plan (2007), Executive Committee Vice President (1994 – 2001), Chair of the Educational Policy Committee, and Chair of the Admissions and Financial Aid Committee. Vivian Donnelley has served on the board, both as a member and Chair, of the Green Chimney’s Children’s Services, a pioneer in the field of animal-assisted therapy, serving at-risk youth on its 196-acre farm campus. She is also a member of The Friends of Green Chimneys. Vivian Donnelley recently joined the board of the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation, a foundation dedicated to land conservation and artistic vitality for communities in the Chicago region and the Lowcountry of South Carolina. She is now also a new member of the board of The Land Institute in Salina, Kansas and the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Vivian Donnelley attended Valparaiso University in Indiana for her undergraduate education where she majored in English literature and drama. Her time at Valparaiso also included an academic year at Lancaster College in England performing Mystery Plays in the ruins of Coventry Cathedral.
